Grid Network Services Ltd (GNS) – your partner for energy related infrastructure including telecommunications is seeking the following candidate, primarily in the Dublin area, for the position of:

Distribution (LV/MV) PICW’s

Job Specification/Role Responsibilities:
• Promote GNS’s Safety and Zero Harm culture.
• Responsible for ensuring all SHEQ procedures and policies are adhered to and enforced.
• Experience of working as LV/MV PICW on complex LV/MV Urban Electrical Networks.
• The PICW shall ensure that the work assigned to him or her is carried out safely and in accordance with ESB Electrical Safety Rules, SHEQ Standards and technical specifications.
• The PICW shall ensure that an On-Site Risk Assessment is completed in consultation with his or her crew and that all hazards are controlled on site to adequately protect himself or herself and the crew members assigned.
• The PICW is responsible for ensuring that the day’s work allocated to him or her by the PIW is completed on time and to the required SHEQ standards.
• At all times he will be responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety for his or her site allocation and crew.
• PICW shall ensure that persons engaged in this work, who are under his or her charge, are conversant with the state of the apparatus, including low voltage and stored energy devices, on which they are about to work.
• Experienced in thorough completion of JSSP’s and briefing of crews, including any special work sequencing & commissioning requirements.
• Capable of full Implementation of the Five Golden Rules
• Experience of preparing and application of LV/MV local earthing procedures and voltage detector equipment/procedures.
• Experience of working with other PICW’s and under a TCO control.
• Experience of working with all LV/MV work scope items for refurbishment, maintenance and new build electrical networks. 
• In-depth experience of LV Commissioning procedures and comprehensive understanding of polarity.
• Experience of taking telemesses/permits to work on LV/MV power distribution projects.
• Experience of working in a urban environment and adequate and safe management of traffic and members of the public.
• Experience of interfacing with Clients, Customers, Member of the Public and/or any other persons who may be affected by our work and maintain a good working relationship at all times. 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Hold an valid ESBN PICW LV/MV Approval c/w ESBN Commissioning Approval
• 5+ Years’ experience in Overhead Lines industry with specific reference to working on distribution projects for ESBN or other similar DNO’s.
• 5+ Years’ Experience working direct on projects on behalf of ESB Networks, at least 6 month on the work experience on FMR in PICW role.
• Strong commitment to safety and applying safe work practises during duties.
• Ability to work within and contribute in a good team environment.
• Good Leadership Skills.
• Hold and maintain relevant statutory requirements e.g. Safe Pass, CSCS where applicable.
• Energetic and physically fit with experience of climbing and working on wood poles and steel towers.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home.
• Decisive, self – motivated with excellent time management skills.
• Positive Attitude with a high level of Motivation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an innovative, creative and proactive solution oriented approach.
• Flexibility in line with business requirements.
• Good Communication Skills and fluent in the English language both written & verbal.
• Full clean driving license.

Project Manager


The Project Manager is responsible for the day to day project management of the assigned project, depot, Supervisors, Crews and works allocated to the project - with support from the Operations and SHEQ Management Team. The Project Manager is responsible for those in the Depot to carry out their roles and responsibilities as per the outlines procedures. The Project Manager is a front-line manager who monitors and regulates employees in their performance of assigned/delegated tasks.

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the completion of all assigned Projects to the required SHEQ standards and financial success of the project. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the needs of the Client are met to the required standards. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring all SHEQ procedures and policies are adhered to and enforced, with support from the SHEQ Management Team. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the required level of production is achieved daily to a good quality standard.

The Project Manager reports direct to the Operations Manager regarding all matters relating to the assigned project.

Job Specification/Role Responsibilities:
• Promote GNS Safety and Zero Harm culture.
• Responsible for ensuring all SHEQ procedures and policies are adhered to and enforced.
• Completes target number of onsite SHEQ audits.
• Delivery of SHEQ briefings to all staff assigned to the project.
• Acts in the role of Project Manager to deliver projects to the Construction Regulations (PSCS) and Health, Safety and Welfare Acts, with support from the Operations and SHEQ Management Team.
• Daily liaising with Client Project Leaders, Project Supervisors and PSDP representatives.
• Responsible for specific project planning (including resourcing) and programming for the assigned project including management of multiple work streams
• Responsible for all logistical planning on project
• Ability to oversee the outage planning on a complex LV/MV Urban setting.
• Overseeing the management of road opening licenses/ traffic management planning for the various local authority’s on each project.
• Responsible for delivery of allocated works for the project on a daily basis and ensuring Supervisors complete weekly targets.
• Leading and managing our Supervisors, Sub-Contractors and Teams of overhead lines and civils operatives in accordance with our core values, including developing, coaching and monitoring/managing performance of Supervisors, Sub-contractors and Team members
• Responsible for ensuring project KPI targets are achieved and financial success of the project
• Track performance of projects against targets on a daily basis
• Complete weekly costing reports on projects
• Responsible for budget setting, forecasting and monitoring for the assigned project including compiling documentation for payment applications and ensuring variations are logged and approved.
• Ensures all works have been completed against Bill of Quantities
• Sign off on all works completed to the required SHEQ Standards and technical specification
• Attend meetings with client’s, and internally, to discuss project progress including preparation of presentations
• Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external key partners and stakeholders.
• Ensure all project completion documentation/ as built information (including distribution network diagrams) is handed over within the agreed time frame and checked for accuracy prior to issuing to Client
• Oversee SHEQ project documentation libraries are maintained.
• Ensure that all site plant, equipment and vehicles are maintained and are fit for purpose, with support from the Fleet-Plant Manager.
• Identify training needs for the project, training scheduling with SHEQ Team and continuous monitoring.
• Assist in expanding division into other areas.




Qualifications:
• 5+ Years’ experience in Overhead Lines industry with specific reference to project management of distribution projects for ESBN or other similar DNO’s.
• 5+ Years’ Experience working direct on contracts on behalf of ESB Networks.
• Ability to supervise and manage the SHEQ regulations and legislation required in the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines from LV to 400kV.
• Experience as a Project Manager in a large Construction Company.
• Relevant third level education qualifications or equivalent
• IOSH Managing Safely Course.
• Fetec Level 6 Supervisors Course.
• Ability to ensure that all Company SHEQ procedures and policies are adhered to.
• Ability to contribute technical knowledge to proposals and reports.
• Positive Attitude with a high level of Motivation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Innovative, creative and proactive with a solution oriented approach.
• Flexibility in line with business requirements.

• Ability to operate surveying hand held tools such as Dataloggers, height-meters, rangefinders etc.
